It is with great enthusiasm that we announce #WeAreZA
As South Africans we've all felt that warm fuzziness when thinking about how lovely diverse and lekker potjiekos of a country we have all to ourselves. But visually we are spoilt for choice when it comes to our people, landscapes and overall representation of what (we may think) South Africa holds.
Enter #WeAreZA ...
A hashtag that will celebrate our visual grandeur big and small.
The vision is very simple. To get as many enthusiasts clicking and sharing their perspectives of what SA represents to them.
We are kicking off with a celebration of our landscapes. Photographer and filmmaker Kobus Swart (KobuSwart.com) has kindly shared some of his work for all to download (for free!).
So here without further ado, the first installment: 5 Desktop wallpapers for January 2013.
We will be showcasing all kinds of photographic styles and concepts for the duration of 2013. We invite photographers and graphic designers to become part of this.
Contact the studio to share your work or leave suggestions and comments below.
Get involved and tag your life in South Africa everyday.
#WeAreZa is not a hashtag it's a philosophy.

This logo and identity for top South African Director Of Photography, Tom Marais, was one of the easiest and most organic things to have ever come out of WebFarm and yet: The client LOVED IT!
The entire identity flowed from the initials: TM (also a camera)

Once that was established, the minimalistic elements were carried through from the business card design all the way to the web site.
Business Card Back:

the responsive website works great on iPad:

As scholars of creative efforts we are taught that the right way is to suffer for our art...
But sometimes it's ok if it's easy (and fun)
My Best,
John-Henry
PS. Tom Marais also happend to be the DOP of Roepman, a project with which I have a special kind of bond ;)

This month we produced 84 files for The Spas Of Distinction Group - link below...
Beautiful typography with a new font is enough to wake the geek inside each one of us :)

More like these for other spas in the group:

The last two of months have been crazy - in a very good way.
The Four Horseman of our apocalypse are:
1. New Office
We are glad to announce that we are officially moved into the Postmasters facility in Auckland Park. (24 Ditton Ave.) So please drop in for coffee when you are in the area. We love to work, but we work hard so that we can play hard too.
2. New Gear
We have radically upped our inventory in terms of camera's and lenses, sound recording equipment and post production capacity.
Basically this: Have stuff will work :)
3. New Clients
The past couple of months have seen new client's like Pick 'n Pay and Coca-Cola join our list of clients. As a minute little studio in the bigger scheme of things we are proud to have the opportunity to collaborate with giants like these.
4. New Scope
The recent changes has also brought new avenues of interest and a better understanding of rolling media chunks into one and providing a better punch for your buck as a client of ours.
We can not say too much, but boy it is an exciting time to live, breathe and tweet!
Time to run ;)
My best,
John-Henry Opperman
